Network Priorities
The Network Operations Team led a process to identify key Network Priorities.
To guide the Network’s direction, we connected with nearly 70 people across Great Britain — including individuals with lived experience and professionals in research, treatment, public health, and community organisations. Through interviews, workshops, and surveys, they shared their perspectives on what really matters in preventing and reducing gambling harms.
From these conversations, we identified 32 ideas and, through a structured and collaborative process, narrowed them down to the 10 key priorities that now shape our work.
10 Network Priorities
Early education, prevention, and intervention strategies for those at risk of, or newly experiencing gambling harms
Meaningful engagement of people with lived / living experience in the design of policy and services
Recognition of gambling harms as a priority policy issue
Education / training for frontline primary, emergency, and mental health workers (first point of contact)
Gaming, gambling, and social media among children, young people, and emerging adults
Regulation of gambling industry advertising
Research and data on gambling-related harms
Impact on and support for affected others
Understanding, recognising, and addressing the stigma associated with gambling-related harms
Prevalence and risk of gambling-related suicide
